Jiamei Lake’s breathtaking scenery and rich natural ecosystem have made it a favorite among hikers in recent years, attracting many visitors. However, with the increasing number of hikers on the Jiamei Lake National Trail, the landscape and wildlife habitats have come under pressure. To allow the natural environment and wildlife to rest and recover, the Taitung Forest District Office has announced that the period from January 5, 2016, to March 31, 2016, will be designated as the quiet period for Jiamei Lake. During this time, the Jiamei Lake National Trail and all mountain huts along the route (including the Xiangyang Mountain Hut and Jiamei Lake Mountain Hut) will be completely closed, and all activities such as entering the mountain area and applying for hut stays will be suspended.
