Nantou’s Qingjing Farm is one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist destinations for both domestic and international travelers, often crowded with visitors on holidays, which frequently leads to dangerous scenes of people and vehicles competing for space on the road. To address this, the Nantou County Government plans to construct elevated safety walkway facilities, separating pedestrians from vehicles. The walkways will stretch 3.5 kilometers from the Qingjing National Guesthouse to the Animal Husbandry Center. From the walkways, visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views of Hehuan Mountain, Nenggao Mountain, and the Qilai Mountain Range, making it a new highlight of Qingjing Farm.

The elevated walkway will be constructed along the right side of Provincial Highway 14A within the Qingjing Farm pasture area. It will be a wooden boardwalk built with a steel-framed elevated structure, approximately 1.5 kilometers long and 2.5 meters wide. The height will vary with the terrain. The walkway will pass by the Green Green Grassland Shop to the North Grassland Visitor Center, then connect to the existing 55-step trail of the Green Green Grassland, leading pedestrians to the National Guesthouse, forming a 3.5-kilometer looped sightseeing pedestrian corridor.

The Nantou County Government stated that the walkway will feature elevated boardwalks, observation platforms, safety pathways, elevated bridges, and other greening and beautification facilities. Once completed, it will not only enhance road safety but also boost the tourism value of Qingjing Farm.
