To alleviate the heavy traffic flow during the Spring Festival holiday, the Taroko National Park Administration will launch three “Taroko Spring Festival Shuttle Bus” routes from the third to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year in 2016. These buses will operate between Xincheng Railway Station and Tianxiang, offering free rides for visitors to joyfully celebrate the New Year in Taroko.

The Taroko Spring Festival Shuttle Buses were first introduced in 1998 and are designed for visitors planning to travel to Taroko during the Spring Festival holiday, allowing them to easily explore the area’s attractions. The service is scheduled forthe third to fifth days of the Lunar New Year holiday.Previously, the Taroko Spring Festival Shuttle Buses departed from Xincheng Railway Station, making stops at the Visitor Center, Shakadang, Buluowan, and Swallow Grotto, with the final stop at Tianxiang. This year, two additional routes have been added: one from Xincheng Railway Station to Bu’erwo, and another from Buluowan to Tianxiang,with buses running approximately every 10 to 15 minutes.

Additionally, the newly opened scenic trail “Little Zhuilu Trail,” launched in November this year, is located just outside the Shakadang Tunnel near the Taroko Plateau, connecting the plateau with the Shakadang Trail. Most sections of the trail feature wooden boardwalks, winding through dense forests alongside the Liwu River. The trail also includes a suspension bridge that crosses a small mountain stream—walking across it offers a uniquely wild experience, making it one of the hottest new attractions recently.
