New Highlight: Enjoy Food and Coffee at IKEA House

Following the success of IKEA House in Chongqing South Road in 2014—where guests could freely book gatherings or overnight stays—IKEA has this year transformed another old building on Section 2, Zhongxiao East Road into the second-generation IKEA House. The Scandinavian-style house, spanning four floors and 112 ping (approximately 370 square meters), can now be visited for free without a reservation. Guests can also enjoy coffee and cuisine here. The new space officially opened on the 19th, while IKEA Family cardholders were able to visit early from December 16 to 18 to experience the warmth of home.

From Huashan 1914 Creative Park, just look toward Shandao Temple MRT Station, and you’ll immediately spot IKEA House. The entirely white building, complemented by vibrant window frames, is highly eye-catching. For this project, IKEA renovated a nearly 40-year-old building, preserving traditional Taiwanese features such as red brick walls and terrazzo flooring, and then incorporated Scandinavian-style furniture and design to create a uniquely refreshing spatial experience.

The first floor of IKEA House houses the IKEA FIKA coffee bar, where coffee, Swedish cuisine, and home furnishings are sold. After ordering, guests can head upstairs to the dining area on the second floor. The second-floor dining area features a bright, open layout with simple arrangements of sofas and armchairs that create a dynamic, layered feel. Large windows offer views of the tree-lined scenery along Zhongxiao East Road. The third floor includes home living spaces such as a living room and workspace, while the fourth floor is designed as a kitchen and dining area.
