Now it’s no longer just about the Monster Village in Xitou—Nantou’s brand-new themed attraction, “Taiwan Film City Momotaro Village,” is set to officially open on January 29. The entire film city spans a vast area of 5.8 hectares, where you can find scenes inspired by the Japanese fairy tale “Momotaro,” including a monster house, a gassho-style village, a Japanese shrine, and streets, all creating realistic settings that make you feel like you’ve stepped into the story.

This Taiwan Film City, located in Zhushan, Nantou, was funded and built by renowned director Feng Xinghua, who had long struggled to find suitable filming locations. As a result, he invested in creating this film city, which has already served as a set for numerous dramas and films. Now, Momotaro Village has been completed and will officially open to the public on January 29. The village features playful scenes, with streets, rivers, cherry blossom trees, a gassho-style village, and Momotaro’s house—all themed buildings that exude the charm of a classic Japanese fairy tale. After the opening, be sure to visit Momotaro Village for a pilgrimage and create lasting memories as you discover its surprises.
