Taipei City’s cherry blossom season has quietly arrived, kicking off a one-month period of blossom viewing, and the Lunar New Year holiday just happens to be the best time to admire the flowers. Hurry up and step onto the trails to immerse yourself in the fresh, hopeful sea of pink blossoms and make your New Year wishes come true. During this rare time of family reunion during the New Year break, we especially recommend 24 cherry blossom trails. Recently emerging as a new crowd favorite, Pingjing Street in Shilin District is lined with stunning clusters of cherry blossom canopies. Among them, the mountain cherry blossoms along the “Bamboo Forest Trail” are currently in full bloom. As you walk into the trail, you’ll be greeted by a vast sea of pink and white cherry blossoms set against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds — truly breathtaking. In addition, Beitou District boasts Taipei’s highest density of cherry blossom woods, with the blooming period starting around early February. It’s recommended that you walk down from the “Shangqing Palace Trail,” which connects various cherry blossom viewing spots along the way, or head to the “Fengwei Trail,” which runs through the cherry blossom forest. Surrounded by a mountain of pink cherry blossoms, this trail is especially loved by visitors.

For a cherry blossom experience on Maokong, start your walk from “Section 3 of Zhinan Road,” where you can see delicate pink cherry blossoms lining the road. The Department of Urban Development has also added many environmental beautification features along the way, offering surprises at every turn. Upon arriving at the Maokong Gondola Station, it is recommended that you walk the “Camphor Lake Circular Trail.” This gently sloping trail is perfect for a family outing during the New Year, and you can also continue to the nearby “Zhangshan Temple” to pray for blessings.
