Japan’s specialty trains are pulling out all the stops, and starting February 21, they’re introducing another vibrant washi tape train, the “mt × SUN LINER.” Both its exterior and interior are decorated with adorable washi tapes—just seeing this washi tape train rolling through Japan’s beautiful scenery lifts your mood right away！

Japanese washi tape brand mt (Masking Tape) has collaborated with JR West to cover some trains running between Okayama, Kurashiki, and Mihara along the San’yō Main Line in Okayama Prefecture with eye-catching washi tapes inside and out, creating a candy-colored MT washi tape train, the “mt × SUN LINER.” The interior also features advertisements promoting various sightseeing spots in Okayama Prefecture, such as Kurashiki City known for its white-walled townscapes and Kisogawa City facing the Seto Inland Sea.

The “mt × SUN LINER” is scheduled to officially begin service on February 21 and will run until June 30. Each ride lasts between 50 to 90 minutes, with slight variations in daily train schedules.
