The FIFA World Football Museum, an absolute must-visit for football fans around the world, officially opened on February 28 in Zurich, Switzerland. The three-floor space houses over 1,000 exhibits, showcasing records, medals, and official photos from every tournament — from the first World Cup in Uruguay in 1930 to the latest one in Brazil.

Construction of the FIFA World Football Museum began in 2013 and was completed on December 18, 2015. The museum’s rich collection started with just the World Cup trophy and the jersey of Italy’s 1938 championship team. Through donations, loans, and auctions, it now holds a collection of over a thousand items from FIFA’s 209 member associations.

The exhibition features 15 interactive zones and more than 60 digital screens, using multimedia to tell the story of FIFA’s founding, the most memorable moments from past tournaments, and the global development of football. In addition to displays of the World Cup trophy, videos, match footage, and historical documents, the museum also includes a library with around 4,000 football-related books, an interactive learning space called the Lab, a gaming area, a casual bistro, a coffee bar, and the Sportsbar 1904 for watching matches. The souvenir shop sells specially designed FIFA merchandise, making it a pilgrimage site that no football fan in the world should miss.
