As winter fades, vibrant red blooms quietly emerge on the branches, and every spring the Sanchih Cherry Blossom Season attracts numerous flower enthusiasts. Over twenty years ago, the Sanchih District Office in New Taipei City began extensively planting cherry trees, and today the total number of cherry blossoms in the area has reached more than 16,000, making it one of the most popular cherry blossom viewing spots.

The Sanchih District Office in New Taipei City has been extensively planting cherry trees for over twenty years, and the total number of cherry blossoms in the area has now reached more than 16,000, mainly consisting of mountain cherries, Yoshino cherries, and double-flowered cherries. In recent years, around 200 Yoshino cherry trees have been planted along the Sansei Trail, complemented by the gentle sound of the Dakeng Stream, creating a breathtaking view that is a must-visit cherry blossom spot.

Additionally, if you’re not just looking to admire the blossoms, the Sanchih District Office also held the “Spring Blossoms in Sanchih” cherry blossom hiking and picnic event on March 19 along the Sansei Trail in Sanchih. Besides strolling beneath the crimson cherry blossoms accompanied by the beautiful melodies of cello and ukulele, visitors can also enjoy a picnic on the grassy area under the cherry blossom-lined path with family and friends, savoring a laid-back moment with the blue sky as their roof and cherry blossoms as their table.

Take MRT Tamsui Station and transfer to bus 862 (to Keelung), 863, 865, 867, or 892 to the ‘Xinzhuangzi’ stop. Alternatively, bus 860 (specially extended to Xinzhuangzi stop on the event day, with an additional fare required)

Turn into Old Provincial Highway 2 at km 20.8 of Provincial Highway 2, drive about 200 meters to reach Bridge 17, which is the entrance to the Sansei Trail
