When traveling in Korea, enjoying delicious Korean fried chicken with beer is one of the most satisfying culinary experiences. Now, it seems McDonald’s has also caught on to the beer business opportunity by opening Asia’s first McDonald’s that sells beer in Seoul, offering beer instead of cola to accompany McDonald’s burgers and fries, providing customers with a different dining option and successfully creating a buzz.

McDonald’s menu items often feature localized offerings tailored to regional tastes. In terms of alcoholic beverages, McDonald’s locations in Germany sell beer, and some outlets in France even offer wine. The decision to launch Asia’s first beer-selling branch in Korea is mainly due to Korea being one of the highest alcohol-consuming countries in Asia.

Asia’s first beer-selling McDonald’s is located in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Each burger entitles you to one beer. Additionally, since the legal drinking age in Korea is 19, customers may be asked to show ID when purchasing beer at McDonald’s. If this combo proves popular, McDonald’s Korea may consider opening similar branches in areas such as Seoul’s Sinchon and Gangnam districts.
