Tokyo’s “Ghibli Museum, Mitaka” is a must-visit popular tourist attraction for Studio Ghibli fans both domestically and internationally. However, due to its immense popularity, it has also led to various issues with scalped tickets. To prevent such situations, the Ghibli Museum announced that starting from July, tickets will be issued under a named system.

In the past, many unauthorized individuals purchased large quantities of Ghibli Museum tickets for resale at high prices, causing inconvenience to visitors and the museum. To put an end to this practice, the Ghibli Museum announced that starting from July, tickets will be issued under a named system, requiring visitors to present identification documents (such as passports) upon entry. Those found with tickets not matching their identity will be denied entry. Additionally, the Ghibli Museum will undergo renovation and be closed for maintenance from May 9 to July 15. Visitors planning a trip should take note.
