The Xikou Suspension Bridge in Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, has become outdated and is no longer fit for use. The Fuxing Township Office plans to rebuild it on the original site. Once completed, the new bridge will stretch 303 meters, allowing visitors to enjoy the mountain landscapes of northern Taiwan and the scenery of the Shimen Reservoir. It is expected to open as early as the end of 2016.

The old Xikou Suspension Bridge was originally used for local residents' transportation. It gradually took on a tourism function after improvements were made to the area's external connections. With the launch of the new bridge, it will become a new tourism landmark for Fuxing District and is expected to boost local tourism. It is estimated that the bridge will attract around 100,000 visitors per month in the first six months. Details such as the toll system for the new bridge are still under planning.
