To take on low-cost carriers, China Airlines has announced the launch of its “Go Happy” ticket service, targeting budget-conscious travelers and backpackers. Passengers can decide whether to add checked baggage and also enjoy services such as frequent flights, complimentary meals, and in-flight entertainment. The first promotion includes round-trip flights between Taoyuan and Tokyo Narita, with untaxed ticket prices starting from NT$5,100. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 AM on May 25 on China Airlines’ corporate website, and can be booked for flights departing after July 9.

The “Go Happy” tickets are purchased in the same way as regular online flight bookings, are sold in limited quantities, and are non-refundable; the fare does not include checked baggage fees. If you need to add checked baggage, a 20 kg piece for a one-way trip costs USD 30 (approximately NT$980). Passengers can add checked baggage either when purchasing the ticket or up to 24 hours before the flight’s departure via the website—no checked baggage can be added at the airport.
