Challenge 8 Hours, the whole family can join in. Around 10 a.m. this morning, a couple came to the China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) to register on-site. Mr. Hao and Ms. Cui signed up for the Family Category.
Unlike other participants, the Cui family doesn’t usually engage in outdoor sports and aren’t avid outdoor enthusiasts, but they do enjoy occasional family outings. When asked why they decided to take part in the "Challenge 8 Hours" hiking event, which is not something they normally do, she explained that it was mainly because of her son’s insistence.
Ms. Cui shared that a few days ago, she took her son to the mall to buy clothes, where they saw flyers for the "Challenge 8 Hours." Her son showed great interest in the event and wanted to help more underprivileged children have access to education through his own actions, so he strongly urged them to sign up as a family. As a result, early this morning, Ms. Cui and her husband came to the CYDF to register on-site and paid the minimum fundraising amount of 1,500 yuan in one go.
Mr. Hao said that although they don’t usually do outdoor sports, their son has good stamina and can walk several kilometers at a time. It doesn’t matter whether they win or not — they are confident about completing the entire course.
