The Lin Chuchi Cotton Tree Path in Baihe was listed as one of the world’s 15 most beautiful flower-walking trails by a Spanish travel website in 2015. Every year from January to March during cotton tree season, it attracts many tourists. This year, due to the warm winter, the flowering season has arrived nearly a month early. Currently, about 70–80% of the flowers have bloomed. The “2019 Cotton Tree Season” event has also been adjusted to run from February 16 to March 10, in line with the current bloom.

During the flower season (may end earlier depending on bloom status), various weekend activities are held, including street performers, musical performances, guided tours, photography contests, and more. There are also free sapling giveaways and the “Flower-Coloring Fun” postcard activity with chances to win gifts. The first two days of the season feature a rural market showcasing specialties from Baihe, Xinying, Houbi, and Dongshan.

In addition to the hundreds of meters of fiery red cotton trees, this year you can also enjoy the view of red duckweed at the wooden pavilion. The golden rain trees around Lin Chuchi are also in full bloom. The cotton tree path is flanked by colorful flower seas that form a tunnel-like effect—it’s truly enchanting. Enjoy the flowers, take photos, and have a relaxing holiday.

Due to high visitor traffic during the cotton tree season, traffic control is enforced from 8 AM to 6 PM on weekends, prohibiting vehicle entry. Control points include the South 90 Lin Chuchi Intersection, Jiuzhui Bridge, and the old Taiwan Sugar Railway entrance (at the intersection of South 88 and 89). Nearby roadside parking is available along South 88 and 89.

It’s recommended to use public transportation. During the flower season, weekend visitors can take the newly added “Weekend Rural Leisure Bus” (Yellow Line 6-1 operated by Xinying Bus) which makes extra stops at the cotton tree path. Additionally, the T-Bike public bike system in Tainan has rental stations at Houpi Wumile Tourism Service Center, Xiaonanhai Scenic Area (next to Putuo Zen Temple Suspension Bridge), Xinlianxiang Branch in Baihe District (near 7-11), the old railway entrance to the cotton tree path, and the Xinying Station (next to Xinying Train Station).
