The latest 2016 list of the world’s best airlines, released by SKYTRAX RESEARCH, known as the “Oscars of the aviation industry,” has named Emirates as this year’s champion. Taiwan’s EVA Air ranked 8th, improving by one spot from 2015. China Airlines jumped from 52nd last year to 37th and was also awarded 10th place for best airport service. The title of world’s best low-cost airline remains with AirAsia.

In addition to ranking 8th in the world’s best airlines, EVA Air also won first place for business class amenities, best transpacific route, second place for best airport service, and second place for best cabin cleanliness. SKYTRAX also rated EVA Air as a five-star airline, making it the eighth airline worldwide and the first in Taiwan to receive this top honor in the aviation industry.
