Due to abnormal weather this year, the golden needle flower fields in Taimali, Taitung, bloomed about half a month later than usual. They also narrowly avoided the impact of Typhoon Nepartak, and began to bloom gradually in late July, only fully covering the mountains after August. The Taimali Township Office will also hold a series of Golden Needle Flower Season events, inviting all visitors to join in the celebration.

The climate on Golden Needle Mountain in Taimali is diverse, with long hours of sunlight, providing ideal conditions for plant growth. It is a renowned flower-viewing destination. The golden needle flower season runs from July to October each year. Because the flowering period is extremely short, the flowers are also called “one-day beauties.” Affected by the strong cold wave earlier this year, this year’s golden needle blooms were delayed by about half a month, and will only fully bloom in early August.

To attract visitors to view the flowers, the Taimali Township Office is organizing a series of Golden Needle Flower Season activities. Additionally, there is a special Golden Needle Flower Viewing Shuttle Bus to Golden Needle Mountain in Taimali, running from August 1 to September 11, departing at 09:00 and 14:00 every Monday to Friday, available from either the Taimali Township Office or the Taitung County Tourism Service Center.
