The intelligent robot Pepper, which created a sales craze in Japan, made its official public debut in Taiwan on July 25, interviewing five major companies. Soon, people in Taiwan will also be able to see Pepper without having to travel all the way to Japan to buy one.

Pepper went on sale in Japan starting June 2015, setting a record of selling out one thousand units within an average of one minute. It has since become available for corporate leasing in Taiwan as well. In March 2016, Pepper took on the role of sales and marketing service staff at SOFTBANK’s smartphone experience store, creating a buzz and generating a wave of on-site interest. It will soon be available for such experiences in Taiwan too.
