The “2016 Hsinchu Kite Festival” will take place on August 27 and 28 with great energy, as top stunt kite flyers from around the country gather in the Windy City to compete. A wide range of uniquely shaped kites will also soar through the sky. In addition to these, the event includes DIY kite painting, children’s theater performances, a “Nighttime LED Kite Show,” and musical feasts, promising an exciting experience.

The kite festival will be held on August 27 (Saturday) from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on August 28 (Sunday) from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. On-site, besides stunt kite teams from various counties and cities showcasing their skills as they capture the essence of the wind, performing tricks with specially shaped kites and presenting a unique nighttime LED kite show, there will also be children’s theater, music performances, international dance shows, lucky draws, DIY kite painting, eco-friendly challenge games with prizes, local specialty promotions, and food trucks.

Additionally, the kite festival offers a rich array of promotional items and prizes. On the day of the event, bring five invoices from July or August 2016, or five used batteries, to exchange for one raffle ticket as well as either a shark kite or a DIY painted kite; bring five plastic bottles or five used CDs to participate in a DIY eco-friendly spinning top craft workshop. There is also an easy-to-understand, fun, and educational eco-challenge activity — pass three levels to receive a bar of handmade soap.
