The film Love is Eternal by Venice Golden Lion-winning director Tran Anh Hung premieres on October 7th. The contemporary master collaborates for the third time with “Asia’s No. 1 cinematographer” Mark Lee Ping Bing, uniting three of France’s leading actresses including Audrey Tautou, Bérénice Bejo, and Mélanie Laurent to create a sweeping, century-spanning epic centered on three generations of women. Audrey Tautou portrays a young girl, a young wife, and an elderly widow, taking on the demanding challenge of roles across all stages of life.

The story is set in the late 19th century when Valentine, in the prime of her twenties, falls in love with Jules, and the two decide to build a happy family together — but World War I breaks out. At the end of the 20th century, a French woman throws herself into the arms of her lover regardless of everything; she is Valentine’s granddaughter, and they leave behind the legacy of love and their descendants.

Love is Eternal returns to the director’s homeland of France, telling the story of a Parisian family across a hundred years and three generations of women. In addition to bringing together three top-tier French actresses, it is also the third collaboration with cinematographer Mark Lee Ping Bing.
