The retro-themed “ice cream parlors” mostly have a long history of operation, and the ice treats and fruits they serve reflect the local produce and residents’ way of life. The Tainan people’s dedication to good food is also reflected in their coffee, from the selection of green beans to the brewing process—each step is infused with the care given to friends and family. The Tainan City Tourism Bureau has launched the “Fruit & Coffee” brochure, inviting freelance illustrator {Cat. Indeed As It Is} to plan the overall map design. This time, she will take travelers on a journey through ice cream parlors during the hot season to taste decades-old desserts that have remained unchanged; coffee lovers can visit the local cafes she recommends to experience the warm and personable coffee culture of Tainan.
