Various campaigns launched by convenience stores, fast food restaurants, and other chain outlets often become "limited-time" souvenirs collected by travelers, serving as mementos of their trips. The Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Spring Festival periods are also times when many convenience stores and fast food restaurants roll out special product promotions. This time, McDonald's Taiwan has launched a New Year limited edition “DORAEMON Light Projection Twin Cups (Smiley Face Cup + Bell Cup),” which is expected to spark a buying and collecting frenzy.

The DORAEMON light projection twin cups, proudly made in Taiwan, consist of Doraemon’s smiling face (the top part) and his bell (the bottom part). These light projection cups, labeled as made in Taiwan, can be purchased with any McDonald's food item by paying an additional NT$299. They go on sale at 11:00 AM on January 18, 2017, and cannot be combined with the Happy Delivery service. Each person is limited to purchasing two sets per transaction. The DORAEMON light projection twin cups are limited to 30,000 sets and will be available until February 7, 2017, or until sold out.
