Not sure where to go for a spring outing during Lunar New Year? Taiwan’s premier lantern festival event, the 2017 Moon River Port Lantern Festival, officially kicks off on January 21. This year’s exhibition is themed “A Tribute to the Four Seasons,” featuring nearly 50 artistic light displays, including seven large-scale landscape pieces and four works by international artists. These are installed above the scenic waters of Moon River Port in Yanshui, using four colors to evoke the ambiance of the four seasons. Coupled with large-scale highlight landscape installations, the festival presents a unique, dreamlike atmosphere that sets it apart from traditional lantern displays. Strolling through the seasonally themed light zones offers a visual feast unlike any other.
