Taipei’s New Floral Secret Spot: A Riot of Cosmos Flowers

No need to travel far—urban flower seas are blooming at Taipei’s riverside parks. The cosmos flowers at Zhongzheng Riverside have burst into vibrant bloom and will continue flowering until mid-March. Visitors are encouraged to take a holiday trip to enjoy the riverside floral display. In addition to Zhongzheng Riverside, Maqiuting offers a sea of cosmos flowers, while the floral displays at Daonan and Rainbow Riverside are nearing their end.

Colorful cosmos flowers decorate the grasslands of Zhongzheng Riverside, covering an area of 2,300 square meters. The seeds sown this time are mixed-color, featuring pink, lilac, and white cosmos blooms that are vividly vibrant. Paired with the scenic beauty of the Xindian River, the view is simply breathtaking.

Cosmos flowers can grow up to 1 meter tall, swaying gracefully in the breeze under the sunlight, adding an elegant touch to the riverside. To create a dynamic seasonal landscape, landscape flower seas have been designed across riverside parks—from Yanping, Chengmei, Rainbow, Maqiuting, Daonan, to Zhongzheng Riverside Park—the floral displays bloom in succession, wave after wave, allowing beautiful blossoms to accompany visitors throughout the year. As a result, the riverside parks have become a great destination for outings.

This flower sea is located near Zhongzheng Bridge, adjacent to the bike path. You can walk down to the riverside park from under Zhongzheng Bridge, or enter from Maqiuting Memorial Park and head toward Zhongzheng Bridge to reach the flower sea.

If starting from Maqiuting Memorial Park, you can first admire the sea of cosmos flowers, then cycle south to Guting Riverside Park and take photos under the romantic bridal installation art. Visitors are reminded to be considerate when taking photos—please do not step on the flowers so that more people can enjoy this floral display.
