With cherry blossom season upon us, various regions across Japan are gearing up for this annual floral extravaganza. On March 4th, Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise in Kanazawa Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, was blanketed in hues of pink. This event, themed “Springtime Paradise,” not only features real cherry blossoms but also uses pink-hued lighting to illuminate marine life, fully leveraging digital light and sound effects to offer visitors a fresh take on cherry blossom viewing.

Additionally, evening-only events include a night cherry blossom theme, where the large 18-meter-high, 55-meter-wide roof of the Aqua Museum aquarium serves as a screen for light projections displaying CG animations. Through music and visuals, the show depicts marine creatures transforming into blooming cherry blossoms. In the large water tanks, dolphin performances take center stage, with the animals showcasing energetic routines amid pink-hued lights, accompanied by cherry blossom-themed songs.
