The Xucuo Port Wetland, the largest in the country featuring waterfront areas, fish ponds, and green tunnels, serves as an important habitat and stopover site for migratory birds traveling south and north each year. To help more visitors learn about the mangrove wetland ecosystem, the first phase of the wooden boardwalk project has been completed, spanning 48 meters. The second phase, measuring 60.9 meters, is also set to be built, completing an “L”-shaped route. Designed without disturbing the original ecology, it utilizes existing pier columns and is constructed from weather-resistant, rainproof, and anti-corrosive plastic wood material, allowing visitors to get closer to the Xucuo Port Wetland.

Originally an abandoned military camp, Xucuo Port now covers 961 hectares and stretches 10.5 kilometers along well-developed river systems and estuary landforms, making it an ideal stopover for migratory birds. Designated as a national-level important wetland by the Ministry of the Interior, it welcomes numerous birdwatchers from October to May each year who come to observe flocks of birds feeding and resting here, creating a serene ecological scene.
