Taiwanese tourists traveling to Japan for working holidays are also on the rise, with Okinawa being a dream vacation spot for many. Recently, the Japanese government announced a Taiwan-exclusive program. As long as you meet the basic requirements, you can apply to study in Okinawa for one year. The Okinawa Prefectural Government will not only cover round-trip airfare, accommodation, transportation, tuition, and insurance fees, but will also provide each successful applicant with a monthly living allowance of 70,000 yen (approximately 20,000 TWD)—a great boon for Japan-loving travelers.

The Okinawa Prefectural Government is recruiting Taiwanese students for the 2018 academic year to study Japanese language and history and culture in Okinawa. There are as many as five schools to choose from. In addition to holding Taiwanese nationality, applicants must be under 35 years
