There's nothing more refreshing than sipping a smoothie on a hot summer day. Beyond the usual smoothies, a Korean fried chicken shop in Tainan’s Zhengxing Street, “Kim Dafei Korean Fried Chicken,” has launched vibrantly colored rainbow fruit juice smoothies. Owner Huang said that their smoothies are made purely from fruit juice without any artificial coloring. However, these rainbow smoothies are only available on weekends, with a daily limit of about 80 bottles, each priced at NT$70.

Why is a Korean fried chicken shop selling rainbow fruit juice smoothies? It turns out that Owner Huang’s wife is Korean. Since Korea offers rainbow fruit juice smoothies in the summer, she missed the taste and inspired him to introduce them. Huang explained that each differently colored layer of the rainbow smoothie is made from different fruit juices — for example, the yellow layer is mango, purple is grape, red is strawberry, and white is Calpis.

The rainbow fruit juice smoothie comes in three different fruit flavor combinations, priced at NT$70, and is available in either a heart or star shape. The colors may vary slightly depending on the ingredients used.
