1. Chengnan Jiusi

Located in Tainan, Chengnan Jiusi is a hidden gem for local book lovers. The store offers a wide selection of secondhand books, CDs, vinyl records, furniture, and antiques. With its high ceilings and soft-toned decor, the space is incredibly cozy. Large windows flood the shop with natural light, creating a relaxing atmosphere for book browsers.

Lele Bookstore, an arts and culture space built around the concept of “exchange only, no selling,” is filled with lush greenery. Its standout feature is the century-old “Grandpa Banyan Tree” that stretches through both the first and second floors. To allow the tree to breathe in nature, a large skylight was specially installed above it, letting sunlight pour in and creating a magical, almost Totoro-like atmosphere.
