The popularity of picture-book style photo spots remains strong – eight must-visit Jimmy Liao (幾米) attractions to collect

Jimmy Liao’s installation art has become a highly popular photo spot in recent years, with his healing-themed designs found all over Taiwan. In addition to the well-known Yilan Railway Station and Jimmy Liao Theme Square, we’ve also compiled a list of eight Jimmy Liao-themed spots across Taiwan that fans of the picture-book style shouldn’t miss.

1. Taipei – Jimmy Liao Moon Bus
In response to Taipei City Government’s “2016 World Design Capital” initiative, Shiny Real Estate created the large-scale bus installation art “The Moon Guards the Happy City,” themed around the picture book *The Moon Forgot*. Following Taipei 101, it has become the second major landmark in the Xinyi Planning District.

2. Taipei – Jimmy Liao Theme Nangang Station
Nangang MRT Station incorporated Jimmy Liao’s artwork, perfectly reflecting the modernity of the station and becoming one of its most talked-about features. The station features six large colorful murals, directly enlarged and fired from illustrations of Jimmy Liao’s best-selling book *The Underground*, then embedded into the walls.

3. New Taipei – Danhai Light Rail Jimmy Liao Public Art
The public art along the Green Mountain Line of the Danhai Light Rail in New Taipei City invited renowned artist Jimmy Liao to create the custom piece “Close Your Eyes for a While.” All 11 stations along the line were transformed into scenes from Jimmy Liao’s picture books, adding more color and imagination to each station through these works.

4. Hsinchu – Jingpin City Shopping Mall
The biggest highlight of Jingpin City Shopping Mall is the “Jimmy Liao Square” on the first floor, along with the tall graffiti piece “The Happy Glimmer of the Forest” on the 12th and 13th floors, which quickly became one of the most popular and bustling photo spots in Hsinchu City.
