5,000 bamboo poles and 250,000 oyster shells transform into the "Gather" bamboo and oyster landscape art

Qianzhen Phase 31 Park in Kaohsiung was destroyed in the 2014 Formosa Fun Coast gas explosion. While the damaged children's playground could not be restored, through the creative ingenuity of international landscape artist Wang Wen-chih and the use of materials such as bamboo and oyster shells, the park has been transformed into a magical ocean castle.

On the first anniversary of the petrochemical explosion, the event was co-organized by Legislator Chao Tien-lin and local social welfare groupsfor the "Together Art Festival."The highlight of the festival was the bamboo and oyster landscape art piece titled "Gather." Created by landscape artist Wang Wen-chih along with teams from Australia and Taiwan, the installation used over 5,000 bamboo poles and 250,000 oyster shells over two and a half months to construct this meaningful new attraction in Kaohsiung.

"Gather" represents the collective efforts and hopes of many, symbolizing multiple pathways for life. Its creators aimed to weave human connections through handcrafted art, bringing a forward-looking vitality to Kaohsiung.
