Taichung West District Food: Spring Field 210
I saw photos on the Facebook page of *Spring Field 210*, and both the ambiance and the presentation of the dishes really hit the spot... We came here after its two-week soft opening period!

*Spring Field 210* is located in Lane 210 of Wuxian 5th Street. In the alley... there's a renovated old house, with simple white letters on the beam that read "Spring 210"... Just seeing the shop entrance already gives off a great vibe...

As you step inside, there's a small courtyard filled with lots of plants... It’s a bright and refreshing space, and if the weather isn’t too hot, sitting here is quite nice...

*Spring Field 210*... The owner explained: the character "Spring" represents the beginning of everything, a meaning of everything being beautiful... "Field" symbolizes the traditional concept that land brings wealth... And "210" comes from the address, Lane 210...

The walls are covered with chalkboard drawings of dish names and illustrations—I’ve always loved this kind of handwritten blackboard style; it’s adorable and very hipster... There’s a minimum spend here, by the way: NT$200 per person...

You can DIY your own drinks...

The owner of *Spring Field 210* is a very young woman, but she’s been studying the culinary arts for many years and only recently decided to start her own business... With the support of her family as a solid backing, she confidently pursued her dream... I wonder what I was doing at 30? Probably... working, working, working every day... getting home... watching TV, watching TV, watching TV... and on weekends... shopping, eating, shopping, eating...

This is the second-floor space—it’s even more spacious, bright, airy, and the tables are well spaced apart... It’s a very comfortable environment...

Looking at the *Spring Field 210* Facebook page, the original old house was almost entirely demolished and redesigned... So every corner you see now is the result of the young owner’s hard work and creativity...

The balcony... also has plenty of plants...

The second floor also has a drinkware and utensil area... Dining up here means no need to go up and down the stairs...

Let’s take a look at the first-floor restroom—I walked in and immediately turned back to the seating area to grab my camera... See it? There’s even a diaper changing station in the restroom! Moms will find this so thoughtful—what a wonderful environment!

The small metal cabinet on the wall holds some cleaning supplies... I initially thought it was a first aid kit...

At the back of *Spring Field 210*, there’s also a retail display shelf featuring products from small local farms!

Sofa dining area...

There’s also a small courtyard at the back of the house, which serves as another dining space! It’s perfect for guests bringing kids or pets—they can dine here with peace of mind...

Cute leaning postbox! When we visited Taipei earlier this year, we had the chance to see the real thing—it felt so fresh, like meeting an idol!XD

There are handbag storage baskets under each seat...

Menu…
The menu mainly offers fusion Japanese-Western set meals, along with desserts and drinks... Set prices are around NT$300, and include appetizers, salads, and clay pot dishes...

Side dish
The top one is the side dish for the meat set meal, and the bottom one is for the vegetarian set meal... Both have refreshing flavors, some dressed with vinaigrette, others with sesame sauce—the tastes are varied, healthy, and not heavy at all...

Mom’s Style Fried Chicken Cutlets - NT$320
The name of this dish is so cute, right? It feels like you’re eating a mother’s lovingly made meal...

The fried chicken cutlets have a simple and clean flavor—the chicken is tender and flavorful, the coating is crispy but not greasy... There are also mashed potato balls and a side salad, making the whole dish feel very refreshing...

Comes with white rice and hot soup—the soup is cooked in a clay pot and features Japanese-style oden. The portion isn’t huge, but the taste is quite good!

Springfield Hamburg Steak - $350 TWD
This dish looks quite impressive on the menu, and you’d instinctively want to order it... Even though the main courses vary, every dish comes with basic mashed potato balls and different types of salads, especially the hamburger steak which is garnished with a runny egg...

The hamburger meat is really well-made, cooked using a paper-wrapped bake method, resulting in a rich, tender, and flavorful texture that pairs perfectly with white rice—absolutely delicious in one bite!

Springfield Vegetarian Curry - $320 TWD
I’m someone who can go without meat for a meal but not without vegetables. When I saw this colorful vegetarian curry set, it really caught my eye... I remember some followers on the social media page are vegetarians too, and for those who don’t eat meat, dining out often has fewer choices... I thought it’d be nice to try it out for everyone today... ^^

The curry sauce isn’t overly thick, with a mild spiciness, and it’s made with seasonal vegetables—it’s refreshing. And surprisingly, the boiled egg is actually runny too. I love this dish. If my appetite weren’t so small lately, I could’ve easily finished two bowls of rice with it!

The side salad and soup are also different from the meat versions, which shows real thoughtfulness. ※ This is an “egg-and-dairy vegetarian” dish. If you’re a full vegan, please let the staff know when ordering, as they can customize it for you!

Panda Kids’ Meal - $200 TWD
Isn’t this meal just super cute? The whole set is absolutely adorable, and our little Cherry was so happy...

Mama stole the fries and nuggets. Hahaha... She’s still a bit young, so we’re not very keen on letting her eat fried food yet. But I thought the fries were really tasty, and our friends loved them too... It’s definitely not an afterthought just because it’s a “kids’ meal”!

Fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice—Cherry drank it all by herself. Such a great sport!

Nowadays, she insists on feeding herself and doesn’t want help. We let her have her moment. '' She really enjoyed it, and it seemed like DIY food tasted even better to her...

After lunch, we seamlessly moved on to afternoon tea...

Mixed Fruit Pinecone Pancake - $280 TWD
The pancakes at “Springfield 210” are thick, Japanese-style savory pancakes, served with seasonal fruits and a big scoop of ice cream—it looks so indulgent...

The pancake has a moist, fluffy, yet dense texture. Paired with ice cream and fruit, the mix of sweet, sour, and eggy flavors makes for a diverse and enjoyable bite...

Fruitful Fruit Tea - $150 TWD
It’s exactly as the name says on the menu—very generous!

Wild Berry Yogurt Smoothie / Ershui Zhengjia Guava Juice - $150 TWD...
So I got to enjoy the yogurt all by myself—it’s thick and delicious. None of my friends drinking with me wanted dairy today, what a pity. The guava juice is made from guavas grown by the young owner’s dad himself in Ershui, Changhua!

Ethiopian Bokasso Linca Yirgacheffe Washed Process - $150 TWD
It’s been a while since I had a single-origin coffee. Just looking at it made my mouth water... This cup is brewed using the pour-over method and served in a copper cup, which gives off a high-end vibe. I don’t really know much about single-origin coffees, but it’s smooth and tasty!

Great ambiance and food. It’s just next door to “Dongben Bakery.” For those driving here, you can park at the lot across from “Momo Light Meals” and walk over... At “Springfield 210,” you can enjoy a peaceful space and thoughtfully prepared meals. Highly recommended!
