Traveling abroad just got easier for Hualien and Taitung residents！ An “Auto-Entry Registration Counter” has been set up in downtown Hualien

Since the launch of automated immigration clearance at airports, the speed of entry and exit for travelers has significantly increased. To make it more convenient for residents in Hualien and Taitung, the National Immigration Agency has established an “Auto-Entry Registration Counter” at the Eastern Taiwan Joint Services Center of the Executive Yuan starting today. Residents from Hualien and Taitung can apply for the automated immigration clearance system nearby after receiving their new passports from the Eastern Branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The National Immigration Agency stated that individuals aged 14 or older and at least 140 cm tall can apply for the Automatic Entry and Exit Clearance System by presenting dual identification documents with photos, such as an ID card or passport. The application is valid for life and can be used at any airport nationwide equipped with automatic clearance gates.

Currently, there are 53 automatic clearance gates installed across Taiwan’s airports, including those in Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Kinmen. After passing through security, travelers can proceed through immigration quickly by simply following the voice prompts on the gates, scanning their passports, and undergoing facial or fingerprint recognition.
