Every March and April marks the peak blooming season of hydrangeas on Yangmingshan. Zhuzihu boasts uniquely favorable climatic conditions and an abundance of clean mountain spring water, making it the ideal environment for growing hydrangeas. In early spring each year, vast fields of white hydrangeas burst into bloom, and strolling through the flower fields amid the misty ambiance creates a truly atmospheric experience.

Visitors can start their journey by admiring the distant sight of steam rising from the summit lake at Xiaoyoukeng, then follow the circular streamside trail around the Summit Lake. Continuing along the newly completed Yangming Streamside Trail, the path is lined with variably sized stacked stones that nearly resemble a natural mountain stream. Lining both sides are trees such as cherry blossoms, green maples, and Taiwan alders, offering visitors moments close to the water, before the trail winds uphill to connect with the Seven Star Mountain shared-use path for pedestrians and vehicles. At other times, it meanders through the woods, presenting particularly pleasant scenery.

Arriving at Xiahu, walk into the Hydrangea Circular Streamside Trail and immerse yourself in the sea of flowers, accompanied by the turning of a waterwheel, evoking a nostalgic sense of old-time charm. Then head to the Literature Trail at Shuwei to view the waterfall and climb up for a bird’s-eye view of the hydrangea fields, bringing a soothing sense of tranquility. There's also the Lakeside Circular Trail at Hudi Grand Terraces — a nearly level expanse of hydrangea terraces stretching hundreds of meters, truly majestic.
