Tainan’s popular ice cream shop Juanwei has been making waves, with its ice cream creations consistently drawing long lines. Now, you don’t have to travel all the way to Tainan to enjoy this sought-after treat — it’s available at the well-known convenience store chain 7-ELEVEN. For the first time ever, the beloved Tainan ice cream shop Juanwei has collaborated with 7-ELEVEN to release a limited edition of 15,000 sets of the “Chinese Ice King Wafer Cone Ice Cream Gift Box.” Pre-sales started on April 9, 2018, at all 7-ELEVEN counters across Taiwan, and the news quickly sparked heated discussions among netizens.

After two years of planning, Juanwei has reimagined the classic wafer cone ice, creating two never-before-seen exclusive flavors: “Honey Black Tea” and “Caramel Custard.” The adorable duo-pack packaging uses yellow as the base color, giving it a lively appearance. In addition to pre-orders at 7-ELEVEN, Juanwei is also selling 700 limited sets at its Anping, Tainan, branch.
Juanwei has teamed up with 7-ELEVEN to launch a wafer cone ice gift box featuring two flavors: “Honey Black Tea” and “Caramel Custard,” with a limited run of 15,000 sets available for pre-order.
Among the two newly launched wafer cone ice creams, the “Honey Black Tea Wafer Cone Ice” uses fresh milk from Tainan’s Hu Shan and is slow-cooked with traditional black tea leaves to bring out the tea’s signature sweet and mellow notes. The tea leaves are finely ground into powder and gently kneaded into the ice, then topped with golden honey, creating a layered, elegant taste and aroma that leaves a lingering, silky tea flavor in the mouth. The other flavor, “Caramel Custard Wafer Cone Ice,” uses premium Italian mayonnaise — a first for any Taiwanese brand — blended with Hu Shan fresh milk from Tainan. The smooth, rich texture and deep egg flavor blend perfectly with the caramel drizzle, making it utterly irresistible.
Juanwei has revamped its signature ice cream to create this new wafer cone ice. With unique flavors, carefully selected ingredients, and a break from the usual fast-food outlets, it offers everyone a chance to savor classic wafer cone ice in a whole new way.
