New Hotspot for Flower Viewing in April Snow — Seven Eurya Flower Spots in Taipei

Spring ushers in a riot of blooms, including delicate pink cherry blossoms, purple wisteria, and elegant azaleas. Around this time each year, "April Snow" also begins to fall. Before the Taiwan blueberry flowers bloom, white eurya blossoms open in succession, covering the trees in northern Taiwan with a layer of white, their petals drifting down like soft cotton—truly picturesque.

Every April, places such as the National Taiwan University campus, the Yangmingshan Flower Testing Center, Tanmei Park and Bihu Park in Neihu are blanketed in "April Snow." The snow-white eurya blossoms attract many visitors to stop and take photos, soaking in the romantic atmosphere.

Eurya trees are named for their slender, elongated corolla lobes that bloom in clusters, with some petals drooping slightly—resembling the tassels on traditional women's garments from ancient times. This is why they are called eurya trees. Due to their snow-white blossoms, which look like piles of white snow from afar, and the fact that they bloom in spring, they are also poetically referred to as "April Snow."

Eurya is a native deciduous tree species in Taiwan, known for its resistance to air pollution. It was once thought to be extinct but has been successfully revived in recent years, and can now be found along roadsides and in parks.
