1. Kyoushirou
Located in Yilan, the specialty hot pot restaurant Kyoushirou features the exterior of a traditional Japanese old house, and its interior décor is also filled with a strong nostalgic vibe. The restaurant’s signature charcoal-fired yin-yang hot pot offers four types of broth, including Sichuan-style spicy hot, Northeast-style pickled vegetable, original pork bone, and Tianxiang lingering flavor. The seafood platter is also quite generous.

2. Lepu Ting
Located near Taipei’s Guting Station, Lepu Ting is a Japanese-style old building preserved through the Old House Cultural Movement after being restored. Not only does its exterior have new life breathed into it, but its interior décor also gives the illusion of being inside a Japanese residence.

Lepu Ting serves cuisine that fuses Japanese seasoning culture with Western cooking techniques, along with creative seasonings, showcasing Taiwan’s local premium ingredients — including locally bred tender and sweet chickens, Ah-Hoshi shrimp and shellfish from natural seawater and ecological farming, U.S. Prime-grade steaks, and imported Canadian fresh Boston lobsters.
