On June 4, only the eastern half of the island and the Hengchun Peninsula need to be wary of afternoon thunderstorms. After June 5, the entire Taiwan region will be influenced by a tropical depression (which may have already developed into a typhoon), bringing abundant moisture. From then until Sunday, June 10, the probability of afternoon thunderstorms remains high, and the likelihood of rain throughout the day increases in the eastern part.
Temperatures will range between 25–32°C, getting hotter the further south you go. The lowest temperatures in the north will be around 25°C, but cooler mornings and evenings should still be noted.
The tropical depression with a pressure of 1002 hPa is located at 13.5°N, 111°E, over the waters near the Spratly Islands, moving northward at 15 km/h and showing signs of developing into a mild typhoon. If it forms into a typhoon, it would be this year’s Typhoon No. 4, Aere. Since its projected path is not expected to directly hit Taiwan, special attention should be paid to the moisture it brings.
Additionally, a tropical disturbance over the eastern Philippine Sea and the South China Sea may also develop into a tropical depression and further intensify into a typhoon. Coupled with the influence of the southwest monsoon, developments after Wednesday are worth monitoring.
