To celebrate the official opening of Taiwan’s first light rail line in Kaohsiung, from stations C1 to C8, the Kaohsiung City Ferry Company has launched a special promotion starting September 9th. On weekends and public holidays at 3:30 PM, harbor cruise boats will depart from Shin Kong Pier (Light Rail C8 Kaohsiung Exhibition Center Station).Originally priced at NT$300, tickets are now available for justNT$100as part of the light rail celebration, allowing travelers to combine the convenience and comfort of the light rail with an easy and enjoyable harbor cruise, offering diverse sightseeing options and itineraries.

Huang Chao-hsing, General Manager of the Kaohsiung Ferry Company, noted that with the recent activation of new light rail stations from C5 Dream Mall to C8 Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, the full line from C1 to C8 is now officially operational. To coincide with this milestone, the ferry company has introduceda special “Holiday Harbor Fun Cruise” departing from C8 Shin Kong Pier, along with the celebratory NT$100 ticket offer.This allows visitors to not only experience the comfort and convenience of the new light rail but also enjoy the scenic beauty of Kaohsiung Harbor, creating lasting memories of their trip.

Huang pointed out that in addition to the Holiday Harbor Fun Cruise, Shin Kong Pier also offers the regularly scheduled “Harbor Sightseeing Cruise” departing daily at 5:30 PM, providing flexible scheduling options. With reasonable pricing and various combo deals, visitors can enjoy a premium-quality harbor cultural experience. Travelers can pair the cruise with convenient transportation options such as the light rail, buses, bikes, or scooters, crafting an efficient and fulfilling one-day itinerary in Kaohsiung.
