Japan’s super-popular attraction "Fruit Bus Stop" — feels like stepping into a dreamy fairy tale world

There are actually giant cantaloupes and watermelons on the highway!? On a coastal road in Nagasaki, Kyushu, Japan, there are 16 adorable fruit-themed bus stops. Paired with the azure seascape, it feels like a fairytale world — an incredibly dreamy sight that has also become a popular local attraction.

On National Route 207 from Isahaya City toward Saga, if you drive for about 30 minutes near Koyagai Town, you’ll find that the roadside is dotted with many giant fruits, including cantaloupes, strawberries, watermelons, tomatoes, and oranges — a total of 16. These oversized fruits are actually “bus stops.”

It turns out these bus stops were redesigned into fruit shapes to coincide with the 1990 Nagasaki Exposition. Each one sits along the seaside like a giant fruit, giving off the vibe of a fairy tale world. Their adorable appearance has unintentionally made these 16 bus stops a popular sightseeing spot. Among them, the cantaloupe bus stop is especially loved by travelers for its finely detailed texture and lifelike design. Moreover, as these fruit-shaped bus stops are located by the sea, in addition to offering beautiful coastal views, you can also listen to the sound of waves and feel the ocean breeze while waiting for the bus — it's like arriving in an isolated fairy-tale paradise.
