While enjoying cold drinks in the summer is a must, choosing among the dozens of drink shops on the street can be quite a dilemma — not to mention the struggle of deciding what to order for afternoon tea at the office when faced with a stack of menus from various shops. In recent years, Taiwanese people have been leaning toward drinks that are 'not too sweet and more natural,' making juice a great choice. This article introduces 【iKiwi Fun Fruit Drinks】, a beverage shop that has been around since 2009 — an established name in the industry. They’ve always focused on juice drinks, known for their vibrant colors, which is why they continue to attract many fans.
This featured collaboration highlights iKiwi’s summer star — kiwi fruit drinks. They taste wonderfully tropical, full of sunshine, just like the fruit itself. There are currently three branches in Taichung, and you can find this delicious juice at their location on Minquan Road!

Most modern hand-shaken drink shops still focus mainly on 'tea-based' beverages, but cold-pressed and slow-milled juices have become new trends over the past two years. With ongoing food safety concerns, there’s a growing demand for purer, more natural flavors. Taiwan, being abundant in fruits, offers a great alternative to tea — enjoying a high-quality juice at a reasonable price. Although fresh juice is usually more expensive than tea, it not only quenches thirst but also provides nutrients.

【iKiwi Fun Fruit Drinks】 has consistently carved out a unique niche different from other tea shops. Fruits and vegetables are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, as well as phytochemicals that offer antioxidant and immunity-boosting benefits. However... Taiwanese people generally don’t consume enough fruits and vegetables. With busy schedules, even finding time for a proper meal is rare, resulting in an average daily intake of only 3.7 servings — far below the health authority’s recommended “Five-a-Day” standard.
Even I often don’t have time to eat enough fruit, or I buy some and then forget about them at home — a total nutritional fail. When you’re short on time but want to boost your nutrient intake, fruit and vegetable juices are a fantastic option (and a lazy person’s best friend XD). They actually offer a wide selection — about half tea drinks and half juices, catering to all kinds of needs.

The fresh fruits at the store are all visible in transparent mini freezers — these are the real fruits used, not just for display. The owner himself says: ‘I won’t sell anything to customers that I wouldn’t give to my own kids.’ This philosophy means no artificial flavorings in their teas, and even the sugar is homemade cane sugar — fresh and authentic, and you can definitely taste it!

Traditional small juice shops often develop a damp, sticky smell due to the natural sugars in fruits if cleanliness isn’t maintained. But I think iKiwi does a good job keeping things clean — both the workspace and counters are neat and tidy. Their service is also very attentive and friendly, which is helpful when you want to ask about unfamiliar flavors.

Since juice drinks (both slow-milled and freshly squeezed) are made to order, you’ll need to wait a little after ordering. Though the space is semi-open, you can clearly see how much fruit goes into each drink. Generally, tea drinks are more affordable, while fruit drinks are pricier, but the ingredients are always generous and uncompromised. Back in the day, the trend was three-horsepower blenders, which were said to enhance nutrient absorption through high-speed juicing.

But in recent years, the trend has shifted to 'slow-milling' as a replacement for high-power blenders. This method preserves more nutrients by using a slow spiral process, and it reduces the chance of fruit pigments breaking down, minimizing browning — helping retain the fruit's natural color. In the past, creating colorful fruit drinks often required artificial coloring for better visual appeal.

But with slow-milling, you can achieve equally vibrant colors naturally, though the price per drink may be slightly higher. (But the shop has a special ‘29 NT freshly squeezed juice’ section — even as a promotion, nothing is compromised!)
Today, I’d like to introduce five juice flavors that are perfect for cooling down in the summer — all personal favorites of mine!

【Freshly Squeezed Juice │ Kiwi & Pineapple │ M 60 NT】
This is one of their best-selling summer drinks — a sunny beverage that’ll make you go ‘Ah-Up-Ha!’ The mix of green and yellow fruits results in a light, pale yellow hue. Crushed ice is blended right in, giving it a refreshingly cool sensation. Despite the combination, the colors remain distinct. It uses fresh, directly sourced pineapples (I forgot to ask if they’re from our local Guanmiao in Tainan or Chiayi), plus juicy New Zealand kiwis — you can actually taste the kiwi seeds in every sip. I love pineapple-based drinks because they carry that warm, sunny sweetness, which pairs wonderfully with the slight tartness of kiwi. The blend is excellent. Plus, you can feel the fruity pulp texture — it’s an honest, hearty drink. Packed with natural enzymes and vitamin C, it’s the perfect healthy, refreshing choice for summer.

【Small Dairy Farmer’s Fresh Milk │ Blueberry Milk │ M 85 NT】
The medium size may not seem cheap, but it’s made with real local blueberries and fresh milk from small Taiwanese farms. Its purple-blue appearance is playful and eye-catching, made with plenty of fresh blueberry pieces.

It’s mixed with fresh milk from Liu Ying’s Xiaotuonong Liujia Tianzhuang in Tainan, with no water added — not even the ice is water, it’s made from milk. The taste is lightly sweet and fruity, with a mildly rich milky flavor. The drink has a slightly thick consistency, making it quite unique.

【Freshly Squeezed Juice │ Apple & Cranberry │ M 50 NT】
Cranberry might be the only tangy fruit I can really enjoy, and its jewel-like red color is gorgeous. Cranberries aren’t just pleasantly tart and sweet — nutritionally, they contain A-type proanthocyanidins and condensed tannins, which are helpful in 'preventing' urinary tract infections (but not curing them!). Drinking them regularly is good for your health. Paired with the fresh, sweet flavor of apples — another healthy fruit — the result is a refreshing, tangy, and aromatic drink.

【Slow-Milled Unsweetened Juice │ Apple & Kiwi │ M 100 NT】
Made with three whole Japanese Fuji apples — sweet yet slightly tart — and two New Zealand kiwis, this juice is slowly milled at low speed to extract the pure juice without any added sugar, delivering natural sweetness from the fruits themselves.

From my observation, the oxidation rate of slow-milled apple juice is a bit slower. The choice of slightly tart apples is intentional — it helps maintain a distinct fruit flavor in each sip. The kiwi seeds also offer a noticeable texture.

The slow mill retains the apple’s natural juice while removing the pulp and skin fibers. The result is even sweeter than eating an apple directly. Members can now enjoy this slow-milled juice at a discounted price of just 89 NT — healthy and budget-friendly!

【Special Offer – Freshly Squeezed Juice │ Lemon & Guava │ M 29 NT】
This one uses locally grown Guava from Yanchao in Taiwan, paired with fresh lemon. The round, sweet flavor of guava balances the tartness of the lemon, and the price is amazing — just 29 NT for a genuine, hearty glass. Want a larger size? Just add 10 NT!

【Rich Milk Tea │ Japanese Roast Milk 45 NT │ + Tapioca Pearls 5 NT】
The roast milk tea is made from scratch — starting with the tea. A tea brewing machine is used to make fresh Japanese sencha, resulting in a smooth, non-greasy flavor. The milk tea has a subtle roasted aroma, setting it apart from regular milk teas.

Moreover, compared to the fresh juice series, they come in larger sizes, are more affordable, and feel less cloying to drink.
