Served on the table are not only plump and round steamed buns, but also incredibly lifelike 3D shapes — these super-cute creative buns went viral on Taiwanese social media before spreading overseas to places like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, and even Europe. Their booming reputation has kept the shop flooded with orders.

Located in Taichung, Qo'eat is run by owner Wang Meiji, who not only has a pair of skillful hands but is also deeply passionate about food design. After careful research, she created 3D steamed buns that defy conventional expectations. Whether it’s the adorable Gudetama, Minna no Uchi, Winnie the Pooh, or Tigger, she can make them all. However, the owner also mentioned that cartoon character buns are not yet available for public sale and are currently just a personal hobby.

If you want to try them, customers must make a phone reservation seven days in advance. Each bun takes 240 minutes to make. Aside from the repeated kneading process to ensure a chewy and springy texture, the shop also pays close attention to details, crafting highly popular original buns with exquisite finesse. With one big bite, you’ll enjoy a soft, fluffy texture with an intense aroma of rich fresh milk. The buns have also passed SGS certification, with no added artificial coloring, earning praise from netizens.

▲ Shop owner Wang Meiji, after becoming an internet sensation, also started offering classes to pass on her baking secrets to apprentices.

Shop owner Wang Meiji has been dubbed the “Queen of 3D Steamed Buns” by netizens. Since starting out, she has gained a large following. In addition to publishing a book, she has also attracted international apprentices who travel across seas to learn from her. Also, a reminder to customers: since Qo'eat’s buns are made with natural ingredients, to extend their shelf life, it is recommended to store them frozen, where they can last up to around 30 days.
