Just after the Dragon Boat Festival, F&B businesses launch Mid-Autumn gift boxes to gain an early edge

Meanwhile, Zhongbao Infinite+ has also collaborated with its sister company, Fuxing Catering, to release a co-branded Ruyi Persimmon gift box, capitalizing on the upcoming demand for Mid-Autumn gifts.

Just after the Dragon Boat Festival ended not long ago, hotels and F&B businesses have rushed to launch Mid-Autumn gift boxes, offering early-bird discounts for pre-orders. Meanwhile, Zhongbao Infinite+ has also collaborated with its sister company, Fuxing Catering, to release a co-branded Ruyi Persimmon gift box, capitalizing on the upcoming demand for Mid-Autumn gifts.

To meet the annual demand for Mid-Autumn gifts, Zhongbao Infinite+ and Fuxing Catering have jointly launched their star product “Ruyi Persimmon.” Pre-orders are now officially available at Fuxing Hangzhan and physical retail outlets of “Zhongbao Infinite Home Service Stations,” with a nationwide limited selection of 3,000 boxes priced at NT$888. Deliveries will begin on August 20, 2016 (105/8/20), with items shipped in cold-chain packaging. Additionally, two new gift boxes have been introduced: “Beautiful Infinity” (NT$550) and “Golden Diamond Infinity” (NT$360).

Taipei Sheraton Grand Hotel, Taipei Hanshin Emar Hotel, Hanshin Aili Hotel, and Hanshin Le Cook have jointly launched three “Hanshin Mid-Autumn Mooncake Gift Boxes”: the “Moon-Viewing” Cantonese-style mooncake box (6 pieces for NT$1,250), the “Feast Moon” premium mooncake box (6 pieces, 2 large and 4 small for NT$990), and the “Taste Moon” egg yolk pastry box (8 pieces for NT$750). Pre-orders for the Hanshin Mid-Autumn Mooncake Gift Boxes open on July 1, with an 15% discount available for payments made before August 15.

Following last year’s innovative fusion of mooncake packaging with board game design, L’Hotel Group has this year created the “Starry Moon Reunion” Mid-Autumn Gift Box (priced at NT$1,380), incorporating the currently trending hologram technology. The flavor selection includes eight different varieties: oolong, sesame, coffee, hazelnut, brown rice, fig, matcha, and chocolate.

Taipei Grand Hyatt has launched two Mid-Autumn gift boxes: “Osmanthus Moon Fragrance” (NT$1,280 / 4 pieces) and “Six Harmony Completion” (NT$920 / 6 pieces). In addition to classic traditional flavors such as lotus seed paste with double yolks, black sesame with walnuts, and longan with red dates, there are also new options like milk custard with macadamia nuts, cranberry pieces, and pumpkin cheese. Executive Chinese Pastry Chef Qi Zhuohui noted that to cater to customers’ desire to try new flavors, this year they have especially introduced cranberry pieces and pumpkin cheese—hopes are that these will attract a younger clientele.
