The 2018 Deyuanpi Dutch Village Windmill Festival will be held from October 6 to October 31, themed “Impressions of Holland.” The exhibition designs are inspired by impressions of the Netherlands, including interactive elements such as “stroopwafels ! Dutch caramel waffles,” a giant Van Gogh Starry Night sphere that’s too big to hold with both arms — “Vincent’s Dream,” a bamboo windmill tunnel “Spinning Dutch Wind,” and a tulip windmill installation “Whispers of Tulips,” allowing visitors to experience stepping into the scenes of Van Gogh’s famous paintings.

In collaboration with the highly acclaimed “Windmill Waltz” environmental artists from last year, the festival features decorative windmills made from recycled materials that adorn the park. There is also an “Animal Planet” exhibition area showcasing a variety of lifelike animal paper sculptures. Additionally, the “Painting with Windmills” activity uses windmills to depict impressions of the Netherlands, connecting the various exhibits throughout the park — an event not to be missed.

Meanwhile, during the two weekends from October 6 to 14, there will also be lively activities such as street performances, markets, and DIY workshops. Performers including Mr. Ten, Little Orange Band, Q? Jin? Ge and others have been invited, along with dance and musical acts, storytelling, and more, offering visitors a chance to experience a diverse cultural extravaganza. From October 20 to 28 during the holidays, the “Love Dutch Sketching Activity” invites both adults and children to the Dutch Village to draw their own impressions of the Netherlands.

During the Windmill Festival period, visitors can present their event stamp to enjoy various discounts at locations such as Jianshanpi Jiangnan Resort, Home of the Cows, Zoumalai Farm, Sugar Fortune Printing Creative Museum, Tianyi Traditional Chinese Medicine Lifestyle Park, Hutoupi Scenic Area, Shuangchun Coastal Recreation Area, Naughty World, Cathay Lia’s Good Food Story House, Nanyuan Garden Leisure Farm, and Liuying District Farmers’ Association.
