Every traveler dreams of visiting Bolivia’s Mirror Lake at least once, but without a BNO passport, time, or money, it just isn’t possible. However, there’s a “Mirror Lake” not far away — in Japan.

Located at the Egawa Coast in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, this spot has long been a popular photography destination in Japan. The offshore power poles here are also a famous landmark. Because the calm water reflects the sky so clearly, whenever there are blue skies and white clouds, a sunset, or even starry nights, it creates the illusion of a “Mirror Lake.” The addition of a row of power poles extending toward the sea gives it an especially Japanese charm.
It takes only about one hour to drive from central Tokyo to Egawa Coast. With its ever-changing scenery throughout the four seasons, many people visit specifically to take beautiful photos — whether for proposals or wedding shoots.
