It feels like you're in a foreign movie scene — Taipei's first "treehouse pavilion" has arrived!

A treehouse from a foreign movie has made its debut in Taipei. Located on the Hsiaohsitou Circular Trail, Taipei’s first treehouse pavilion, “Tree Pavilion,” was recently opened. The two-story platform is surrounded by trees, offering a close-up forest experience and the joy of looking straight into the woods. Its beautiful scenery is reminiscent of scenes from foreign films.

The Tree Pavilion was completed in March this year and passed inspection in June. It was built around an old tree while also leaving room for the tree’s natural development, achieving a balance between nature and construction. Climbing up to the 5.5-meter-high platform offers a level view into the forest and a sense of well-being surrounded by greenery.

The Hsiaohsitou Circular Trail is a triangular loop composed of the “Datou Forest Wooden Boardwalk,” “Datou Nature Trail,” and “Bih Creek Trail,” stretching approximately 3 kilometers in total. Along the trail, there are scenic spots such as the Riding the Wind Fortress Viewpoint, Wind Rush Forest Viewpoint, and Huapeng Viewing Pavilion, which showcase the urban architecture of Taipei’s East District. There are also playful and charming rest platforms named after Spade, Club, Little Frog, Eagle, Butterfly, and Squirrel. The area boasts rich biodiversity, where you can often spot Formosan squirrels and Taiwan blue magpies.

Transportation info: Take bus route 1 from Taipei Metro Chien Tan Station or Shilin Station to “Hsiishan Nursery Station,” then walk about 10 minutes to reach the entrance of the Hsiaohsitou Circular Trail.
