Universal Studios Japan’s "2018 Cool Japan" series of events will kick off on January 19 next year. This time, the park will feature the largest escape game ever created — "Detective Conan: THE ESCAPE" — crafting an original story that can only be experienced within the theme park. It will also incorporate authentic live performances, allowing visitors to solve mysteries alongside Conan and step into the real world of Detective Conan.

The detective-themed escape game featuring Detective Conan, launched by Universal Studios Japan in early 2017, was highly popular. Therefore, in 2018, "Detective Conan: THE ESCAPE" will be further enhanced. In addition to Conan, another character recognized by him will also make an appearance and play an active role. Visitors must take on the challenge of defusing a bomb planted by a vicious criminal, while also using clues at the scene to deduce the sequence of events and identify the culprit.

In addition, the "Detective Conan" series will launch its first-ever "Mystery Restaurant" — "Detective Conan: The Mysterious Restaurant." Through a live mystery show, diners can immerse themselves in the world of Conan even through their dining experience. While enjoying their meal, visitors will suddenly encounter unexpected events and must work with various characters who have actually appeared in the manga to uncover key clues and solve the case, offering a brand-new puzzle-solving adventure.
