The iconic character from Blizzard’s *Warcraft* series —the Lich King Arthas Menethil —has seen his bronze statue officially arrive at Taichung’s Caotun Boulevard, becoming one of the newest pilgrimage spots for Warcraft fans. But beyond the sheer imposing presence of the statue itself, the lighting at night casts different hues on Arthas, fully showcasing the Lich King’s dominance — as if proclaiming his ambition to conquer Caotun Boulevard.

“The Lich King Arthasstatue stands 3.2 meters tall, 4.6 meters long, and 2.1 meters wide, weighing 1,814 kilograms. It was created by Blizzard Entertainment, renowned Taiwanese-American Hollywood visual effects artist and character designer Steve Wang, and a team of 30 people, who spent over a thousand hours on its production. This is its first exhibition in Asia, and it is currently expected to be displayed along Caotun Boulevard for eight years, giving the public ample time to appreciate the presence of Arthas. In addition to admiring the beauty of Arthas under natural daylight, the design team has also used spotlights and street lamps at night to enhance the bronze tones of the statue. The Lich King takes on a regal nocturnal persona, instantly commanding awe and adding an air of imperial return to the nights of Caotun Boulevard.
