After the opening of the Chibi Maruko-chan popcorn specialty store recently, many fans have been eagerly waiting to see when a Chibi Maruko-chan themed restaurant would be introduced to Taiwan. Now, their wish has come true — the first officially authorized overseas Chibi Maruko-chan themed restaurant is set to open in Taipei City, near the National Father Memorial Hall.
The menu at the Chibi Maruko-chan themed restaurant is completely different from that of the Japanese Chibi Maruko-chan themed café, and it will also offer popular Japanese queue-worthy dishes. According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, all dishes have been developed by the owner and head chef based on the flavors favored by Taiwanese people, with the main goal being deliciousness.
Currently, the Chibi Maruko-chan themed restaurant is in the final stages of construction and will soon begin trial operations, possibly around mid-August. However, the exact date will be subject to official announcement.
