Many people choose the Maldives for their honeymoon, with its azure sunshine and crystal-clear waters — just the thought of it is refreshing. But now, a surprising and somewhat exciting new attraction has emerged: an “ice rink” is set to appear in the Maldives. Who would have thought of ice skating on a tropical island?

According to the UK’s Daily Telegraph, the Jumeirah Vittaveli hotel, located near the capital of the Maldives, has launched an ice rink. The highlight is that this rink is not your typical artificial one — instead of relying on conventional methods, it uses energy to freeze water on top of concrete, making the entire rink composed of synthetic elements. The materials are sourced from a Swiss company, and the plastic-based rink requires no electricity or water as energy sources.

The ice rink is set to open in early December, when temperatures in the Maldives are around 27°C. The hotel manager stated that the purpose of the rink is mainly to surprise guests, as the reason guests keep returning to this hotel is that it constantly comes up with fresh and innovative ideas.
